Innovating the Tape Dispenser
Project Description
After studying competitors (Scotch and other Washi tape brands), two insights guided the design: consumers frequently misplace these small household items and the primary appeal of this product is the fluorescent color. The assignment was completely open-ended so I could go any direction with six rolls of tape I was given. The result is an acrylic dispenser that not only allows full visibility of the product, but also leverages the product to function in the consumers everyday routine. The color theory, pattern, and overall aesthetic appeals to mainly females (children and adults) who frequent places like The Container Store, Target, Staples, and other home and office stores.
